Hey all,

I'm looking for someone to fill my spot at a 3 bedroom, 1 bath in Wrigleyville that I currently share with 2 male DePaul students (both music majors, as am I). The apartment is located a block away from Wrigley field and 3 blocks away from the Addison Red Line on a safe, quiet street (We're on the same block as the fire department). I was just offered an RA position at a dorm at DePaul, which is the only reason I'm moving out. We want to fill my spot IMMEDIATLY if at all possible. Your room is large for most 3 bedroom apartments in the area (you can fit a bed, dresser and desk in easily) and has a HUGE closet. It also has an air conditioner and the rest of the apartment is already furnished. My roommates are great guys; extremely personable and friendly and very responsible. Rent is $413 a month plus utilities (electric and cable internet only, it averages about $30-$40 dollars a month). Post back or email kgparker@hotmail.com or kerblatz@hotmail.com if interested. Thanks everyone!!!

Please give me all the pros and cons you've encountered using a Palantino bass-

We're getting one soon, but so far most of what I've heard has been negative! :(

Do any of you use a Palantino standup bass?

SO it's time we post more in here! Just thought I'd bring up....

Last night, I saw the CSO at Ravinia. They performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto no. 3 and Prokofiev 5. I'd been meaning to get there all summer, and finally got down to business. I love the venue; the lawn on a beautiful night undoubtedly breeds great ambiance. But, what can I say....I don't do so well with that lack of sound from the orchestra. For at least half of the program, and for all of Prok 5, I stood at the railings in front of the pavillion. It's just not worth it to me to see the CSO without actually SEEING them let alone taking full advantage of their exceptional sound.

Other than that, Andre Watts' piano concerto performance was kinda unimpressive to me, but Prokofiev 5 was...spectacular. Oh how I love our city.

Anyone else have a memorable Ravinia experience?

Yamaha YOB-211 Oboe
Hi everyone! My name is Rachel and I'm a college student now, but from 5th grade on I spent 7 years playing oboe. In high school I also played old english handbells, chimes, in the drum pit, cymbals, and was a drum major for a year and a half. I was such a bando. Since then I've moved on in my life, and I will be studying abroad for the fall semester in Cape Town, South Africa. I am trying to raise money for my 5 months stay there, so I will be selling my Yamaha YOB-211 Oboe. These oboes originally go for around $1600-$1700, but I'll be selling mine for $600. If anyone needs an oboe or knows of someone else who would be interested (beginner student, back-up instrument, high school band supply, etc) please let me know! I will be forever grateful, and I'm sorry if you see this message more than once as I have posted it to a few communities I am in. My e-mail address is: rs2113a@american.edu. Please contact me soon! Thank you.
